About

Sabine Coulson is the founder and principal designer at Coulson Concept Jamaica. She is a multidisciplinary Jamaican artist and designer - in concept design, publication, and textiles.

Sabine attended the New School where she focused on textile design, printmaking, and art history. In doing so Sabine developed expertise in various meticulous techniques, including printmaking, collaging, hand drawing, all while developing a knowledge of a variety of materialities , which has been used as the foundation of her creative approach.

While at university she immersed herself in Jamaican fine arts at the National Gallery of Jamaica, where she studied the works of artists like Milton Harley, known for his abstract pieces, as well as the Jamaican Expressionism and Jamaican Gothic styles seen in the works of artists like Karl Parboosingh. She continued to expand on her understanding of art history at The School of Public Engagement and The Lang College of Liberal Arts. She saw the power of informing others through art.

This led to the creation of Coulson Concept Jamaica, a brand that has the goal to inform the public about the economic, social, and political elements of Jamaica’s cultural history through conceptually designed visuals and prints.
